More beach fun

Soon after we got back from Ft. Walton for the 4th of July holiday, Jackson and I went to the beach with Amber and her boys. Her parents have a place at Emerald Isle. We went last summer too and had a blast. However, this year we left Emily home with Bobby, Pa, and Great Grandma. Jackson, Anderson, and Camden always have a blast together. So do Amber and I!

Emilys 18 month check up

Emily did so well at this appointment letting the doctor examine her and barely crying with the shots. She weighed in at 22 lb 15 oz (50%) and 32.5 inches tall (63%). She is our tall and skinny girl! I have actually noticed some of her skirts and dresses looking short lately.

These days Emily is going to bed around 7:30 or 8 which is the same time as Jackson. I give them their bath together and then put them to bed after a story and prayers. She sleeps until about 7 or 7:30 every morning. She is still eating pretty well but definitely has started getting more picky. She no longer naps in the morning but is taking about a 3 hour nap which usually starts around 1 in the afternoon. We are really working hard on weaning the pacifier. So now we are restricting it to her crib for naps and bedtime only. She also gets it in the car which we will eliminate soon. We have definitely made a lot of progress in that department. We had greatly regressed around the time we were down in Naples when she was sick with an ear infection. Emily loves to dance. Anytime she hears a beat she stops dead in her tracks and starts bobbing her head and bouncing up and down. She also loves shoes, seriously. She is always putting on our shoes that she finds laying around the house. She also gets very excited about her shoes when I dress her each morning. She is talking so much and learning new words practically every day. She can repeat almost any word. The most common ones we hear from her are: please which sounds more like pa, thank you which sounds like na na, mama, dada, jack, milk, more, and bubble. She is so dramatic at times and can throw a heck of a tantrum, throwing herself to the ground, kicking her legs, and banging her fists. On the other hand, she is so much fun because she is learning new skills every day. And don't get me wrong, she definitely has a sweet side especially when it comes to her daddy!

She hasn't slept like this with me since she was a newborn!
