The past month in pictures..

I try to update this blog once a month, but at this point I'm a bit behind. This past month has been very busy. When I sit down to think about where to begin I get overwhelmed so I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking...

Jackson working with Pa. It was an unusually cool day in south FL...

Playing on the beach with Pa...

"Look mom, I can fly!"

We were celebrating one year since dad's heart surgery. Dad was showing off his scar so, of course, Jack had to imitate him!

Jack flew with daddy to Ft. Walton for grandpa Timmon's suprise 60th birthday party.

He loved checking out all the airplanes at the airport, and he did so well on the plane.

Look who I found in the dryer!

Trying out Bobby(aka grammy) and Pa's new swing.

All ready for school! Jack, Carley, and Lacey got to be guests for the day at Anderson and Camden's school.

Not much has been going on with us since I last updated this blog. We settled pretty quickly back into our routine after the holidays. Toby's job is keeping him busy. He is usually gone overnight 2-3 times per week. I've been working about 2-3 days a week. As far as I'm concerned, its perfect! I get a few days home with Jackson but then when its time to go to work I'm ready for a break. Jackson is cute as ever, but boy has he been testing our limits lately! Its so hard to follow through with a punishment because just as you reach the boiling point, he always ends up doing something cute or funny. His speech has quadrupled in the past month. He pretty much says anything and everything. He still does really well entertaining himself, and at times I hear him talking to his toys and often telling them, "No! No!". His favorite past times lately are playing at the park or the beach.

A few weekends ago grandma and grandpa Wolfe came to visit us. We had such a wonderful time just hanging out with Jackson and playing cards. One thing grandma Wolfe noticed is Jackson has a little Wisconsin accent when he talks. It especially comes out when you ask him a question and he answers with "Yah" rather than "Yes". Toby and I have also noticed it when he says, "No". The weekend with them went by entirely too fast. We hope to see each other again sooner than later.

Here are some pictures from the past month...

Thats it for the photos. Looks like I need to do better with the picture taking next month. Until then...

New Year's

Two days after Christmas Jackson and I ventured up to Charlotte for a week to hang out with grammy and Pa (they were up there to do some maintenance on their house). Toby had to remain down in South Florida to work the week between Christmas and New Years but then flew up to Charlotte the Friday night before New Years. Grammy and Pa had a full house because Chris, Bob, Katie, and Delaney also came to visit for the New Years holiday. We all had a great time together. I have to admit, that being in that cold weather again sure did make us miss south Florida though.

Playing with Delaney...

Having fun with sidewalk chalk!

One of Jacks favorite things to do.

Christmas 2011

This year we had a nice, relaxing Christmas here in Naples. Toby's parents came down to spend the holiday with us. My parents were up in NC already, which is where we spent NYE (see above post). Christmas ended up being just as fun as I had anticipated with Jack being 2 1/2 years old. This year he recognized Santa whereever he saw him and also had enough endurance to power through opening all of the presents. The look on his face, when he came down the stairs Christmas morning to find the tree full of presents, was priceless. I imagine next year will be even better. I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking...

In front of the church before Christmas Eve mass.

Jackson will actually smile for the camera now.

Putting out cookies and milk for Santa.

The tree on Christmas morning. I was up at 6:15 a.m. anxiously awaiting everyone else to wake up.

First glimpse of all the goodies that Santa left under the tree.

The holidays are upon us...

The holidays are here and I can FINALLY say that I feel completely settled here in Florida. Every box (well, almost) is unpacked, pictures are on the wall, and Christmas decorations are up! So, now I feel like I can sit back, relax, and enjoy the holidays, and all of the chaos that comes with it. At least it will be a different type of chaos for the next few weeks.

It all started with Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful visit with Chris and Hannah. Jackson just adores them, although, it took him a minute to warm up to his crazy uncle Chris. We had great meals and spent some time on the beach while they were here. Thanksgiving Day was spent with the McLeans on Jessie and Rock's 20 acre property. What a wonderful place for all of the kids to run around. The day was complete with a bonfire and hayride. It was so fun to spend the holiday with a large family!

Walking to the beach for sunset...

Playing in the sand and water. This was right before going out to a nice dinner.

Jackson and Mae on Thanksgiving Day. They are only a few months apart in age.

This is the typical picture we usually get from Chris

Helping Jackson ride the bike. We coulnt keep Jackson off of this thing.

Family photo. Jackson was happier sitting with Chris and Hannah. Go figure!

Playing on the hay stack.

The day after Thanksgiving, Toby's parents and grandma came down from Tampa to visit us and see our new place. We explored Naples a bit and just relaxed at our place. It was a very nice visit, and great to see them since we didnt get to spend Thanksgiving Day together.

Opening a gift from great grandma Timmons.

Jackson laying on his new pillow from great grandma.

Jackson just adores his great grandma. He clung to her the whole time they were here.

Now we are full swing into Christmas festivities. The tree and decorations went up on Sunday. A visit to Santa was in order for Wednesday. I wasnt sure what to expect from this years visit. Last year was filled with tears. Well, mom and I were pleasantly suprised. It didnt take long for Jackson to warm up to him. He was all giggles on Santas lap. Next thing you know Santa was up out of his seat playing around with Jackson while we looked at the pictures that were captured. It was such a great experience. I cant wait for more Christmas fun to come!

Helping grandma put the Santa gel cling on the window. His favorite thing is peeling it off when the holiday is over, or sooner if he gets his way.

We turned around and Jackson had decorated his cruiser when we were putting lights on the tree.

Putting one of the first ornaments on the tree.

Kissing the sock monkey ornament that Grammy got for him.
