Jackson's 3rd Birthday weekend

As always, Jackson's birthday was bittersweet. Our "baby" is growing up incredibly too fast! Toby and I both agree that between the ages of 2 and 3 are about as good as it gets. Our little boy is so incredibly sweet, witty, and handsome. He keeps us laughing every day. His language skills have sky rocketed, saying just about anything imaginable. He is just now into watching movies which makes his daddy very happy. He loves to swim and is a little fish these days. He is mastering swimming and jumping in the pool without his swimmie. He also enjoys the beach and digging in the sand. Anytime we are out on the road, he will spot an ambulance, fire truck, or police car from a mile away and gets excited every single time. I love to hear him sing either songs from the radio or ones from his favorite Disney shows. I cherish the times when he wants me to carry him down the stairs when he wakes up in the morning or his big hugs on the couch. I know these things wont last forever so I'm trying to soak it all in while it lasts.

His birthday weekend was spent with both sets of grandparents. We spent Saturday cooking out, playing cornhole, and watching the Gators. On Sunday we rented a boat and cruised around the back waters looking at all of the big houses before anchoring up at Keywadin Island for a bit. Monday, Jackson's birthday, we had a Mickey Mouse party. It was just a small family party but still very fun and memorable. Jackson had a huge smile on his face the entire day. My goal was to make his day as special as possible. I'm pretty sure we succeeded! Below are many pictures to recap the wonderful weekend that we had.

Back to School!

Well, our summer of fun has come to an end. I have to admit it has been kind of nice to get back to work and into our routine. Although, I'm sure I will change my tune a couple weeks from now as the freshness wears off. Not to mention, I will only continue to grow bigger and more exhausted as Emily comes closer and closer to her due date. I am currently 24 weeks. I feel her wiggling around a lot in there. It's the best feeling and definitely my favorite part of pregnancy!

Our last few days of summer were spent participating in the usual activities....the park, the pool, and soaking in the sun at the beach. Bobby and Pa came back from NC just in time to enjoy some of it with us. Here are a few pictures from our last few days of summer vacation.

Gotta protect my baby's face from the sun!

Enjoying the beautiful Gulf! The water is so warm that it often feels like a bath.

Summer fun...

You may wonder what has been keeping us busy this summer. Well, here are a few photos to show you some of the things we have been up to....

Jackson had his first trip to the dentist. He did so well! He got his teeth cleaned, flossed, and examined. He went to the same dentist and hygienist that I went to as a child. They were great with him. He loved all of the little gadgets and was mesmorized by the chair moving up and down at the push of a button.

Every Thursday morning we have been going to toddler story time at the local public library. It is a short 30 min session just for 2 year olds where we listen to stories and sing songs of a different theme each week. Jackson loves it!

We have made many trips to the beach, in fact, we go just about every weekend. Lately, after a couple hours we usually end up getting caught in a classic Florida afternoon thunderstorm where we find ourselves packing up in a hurry and running to the car for cover. This particular beach trip happened to be during sunset last Monday night. We rode our bikes to the beach from the house.

It's a GIRL!!!!

Last Monday we had our detailed anatomy ultrasound, which revealed that not only do we have a healthy baby as far as we can tell, but baby Timmons #2 is a GIRL! I was more than thrilled to receive the news. Toby admits to being a bit nervous about raising a little girl. We have always said that we will only have 2 kids so as far as I'm concerned 1 boy and 1 girl is just perfect! Her name will be Emily Margaret Timmons. We have always wanted the name Emily for a girl and Margaret is after Toby's mom and grandma. She is scheduled to arrive via c section on December 5th. Let the shopping begin!!

She is definitely a girl!!

There she is at 19 weeks!

I also thought I would share some pregnancy pics. I didnt take many of these with Jackson, so I'm trying to do better this time around.

Independance Day and Birthday fun!

The week before Independance Day we made our way up to the Florida panhandle to stay with Toby's parents for the holiday week. Not only were we celebrating Independance Day but also Toby's 30th birthday!  Of course Toby tied some work into the trip as well. We made a few stops along the way but eventually ended at our final destination on Friday, the 29th, around dinner time. We woke up early the next day, Toby's birthday, to embark on a fishing trip. This was one of Toby's birthday presents. I had never been fishing so Toby was very excited to take me along with him, his dad, and his dad's two buddies. Well, lets just say, I dont think I will be going fishing again anytime soon. By the time we made it out to the fishing spot I was sea sick beyond relief. I was able to hang in there for about 2 hours before I couldnt take it anymore and we called it quits. I didnt even get a chance to attempt to catch a fish.  I was so happy when we arrived back on solid ground. At that point I recovered quickly, and Toby and I were able to enjoy a nice dinner date at one of our favorite restaurants, Tradewinds. We had a great week and actually got to relax quite a bit between taking Jackson to the Gulfarium and many boating excursions (I was fine as long as we werent anchored out in the deep waters). We got to enjoy a beautiful 4th of July fireworks display out on the boat. We werent very close to any of the fireworks, therefore it wasnt very loud but Jackson was still scared. He crouched down between Papa and Grandma the whole time and ended up falling asleep.

Look, Jackson caught a "pretend" fish! Grandma and Papa got him his own Toy Story fishing pole.

Cinnamon

So heres a cute story for you....

At the beginning of this pregnancy with Baby Timmons #2, I was so nauseous that I was researching home remedies. One that I stumbled upon said when nausea attacks just sniff a jar of cinnamon. For awhile, I just kept the cinnamon out on the counter. Jackson would see me sniff and say, "I want some." I would tell him, "mommy doesnt feel good and it helps her feel better." This went on for a couple weeks until one day Jackson banged his head while playing in the house. He cried and said, "I want cinnamon!" It took me awhile to figure out what he was saying. I was extrememly confused but went ahead and handed him the jar of cinnamon. He proceeded to rub his "boo boo" with the outside of the cinnamon jar and then said, "all better" with a big smile on his face. Apparently the cinnamon makes him feel better too! Now everytime he gets a "boo boo" he asks for cinnamon.

May Days

Once again May proved to be a busy month and once again I'm behind on updating this blog. Things should start to slow now that I am on summer break. The last day of school was June 6th. I'm taking this summer off to travel a bit with my boys and spend some quality time with Jackson because before we know it, it wont just be him anymore. His baby brother or sister will be here in early December! I'm now 13 weeks along. The first few months of pregnancy started out pretty rough with lots of nausea and fatigue, two symptoms I never had with Jackson. I just recently started feeling better as I enter into the second trimester. We will find out the gender in the middle of July! Now that I'm feeling better, I'm ready to enjoy a summer full of fun!

As for May, we enjoyed a visit to see great grandma, celebrating Mother's Day and Memorial Day. We kept it all pretty low key since I was feeling yucky pretty much 24-7! Here are some pictures from the past month or so....
