Emilys baptism

On Saturday April 6th, Emily was baptized into the Catholic Church. The ceremony was held at St. Gabriel's which is the parish we belong to here in Charlotte. Jackson was also baptized at this church a few years ago. We chose, Todd, Toby's brother to be Emily's god father. He proudly accepted. All of our guests arrived the Thursday evening before to start the celebration. Todd drove up from Tampa with Great Grandma Timmons, and Grandma and Papa drove in from Ft. Walton. We were so thankful that everyone was willing to make the long journey to get here. We had such a nice weekend with family. Bobby and Pa spent some of the weekend with us all as well. We had lots of good meals and drinks while hanging out on the back deck listening to music. We also played some cornhole. The weather was perfect! The weekend concluded on Monday morning when everyone headed back home.

The kids posed like little angels and allowed me to take a ton of photos before we left the house...

Neither one of them look too happy about it though

Emily was not too happy about having water poured on her head

We had to give in and let her have the pacifier, even though we try to avoid it for photos

Easter 2013

We celebrated Emily's first Easter this year. Of course, she had no idea that it was different from any other day but Jack on the other hand, is at the perfect age for celebrating holidays. We went to mass on Easter morning before having breakfast and an egg hunt at Bobby and Pa's. Jackson quickly found all of the Easter eggs and baskets for him and Emily, hiding around the house. His face lit up every time he found another egg! Weather did not cooperate (it was cold and raining on and off) so we held the hunt inside this year. We spent the afternoon relaxing at home before having a non traditional Easter dinner of pork tacos. They turned out really well! The pictures will do the rest of the talking.

Staying busy...

As usual, it has been very busy since I last wrote. Jackson is still enjoying preschool. On his days off we stay busy by visiting with friends, going to the park, or just playing at home. We are still waiting for the consistent warm weather so we can enjoy the outdoors daily. On March 8th Jackson started playing soccer! It is a co-ed team with players age 4 and under. They have a 45 minute practice session every Friday night where they run through stations focusing on basic soccer skills. They have a coach but one parent is required to participate on the field, that will be Toby for the most part. At this age they do not play any games. So far it seems like he is enjoying it and is doing really well!

Emily was 3 months on March 5th. She is becoming more interactive and interested in her surroundings. She grabs for objects occasionally and loves to look at her fists. When she nurses she runs her fingers through her hair. She is cooing and giggling often throughout the day. She is about as sweet as she can be! Her routine has remained consistent with going to bed between 9 and 10 then sleeping until 7 a.m.! She nurses about every 3 hours while awake still. Her last feeding before bed is pumped and put in a bottle. She is pretty fussy nightly between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. We mentioned it to her doctor and he thinks it is probably just colic since it occurs at the same time every night. Hopefully she will outgrow it soon! Emily took her first overnight road trip this past weekend. We went to Virginia to celebrate Delaneys birthday. The kids were both great travelers!

Toby has been traveling a lot for work, so the days go by very fast trying to juggle the two kids. Its a crazy life but I wouldnt have it any other way. I love my babies more and more every day!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

We have another busy month ahead with Easter right around the corner and then Emily's baptism. Until then...
