Just a quick update...

A few things that Jackson has been up to this past month...

His top front teeth are coming in, as well as the ones next to those. Maybe he will be able to eat more efficiently! As far as his eating goes, he has been doing a little bit better. We still have to give him Pediasure a few times a week when he just doesnt want to eat one of his meals. He definitely feels heavier to me though. He goes March 1st for his 18 month check up so we will see then what he is weighing these days. The child definitely isn't carrying around much "baby fat" though. He has a very athletic build already!

He has started feeding himself with a spoon. Of course he still needs lots of practice and is spilling some, but I have to say, he does pretty well! Pictures to follow!

He has learned many of the animal sounds. It is too cute when he says them on command! So far he knows a cow, sheep, horse, owl, and Sugar. He also can point out body parts, such as his hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and belly button. He still isnt doing much talking though. Grandpa told me that he says "up" and I have heard him say "bye bye" and "T.J.", but not much else. It can be worrisome to me, but I'm sure when he does start talking there will be times when I wish that he couldnt!

He loves kicking around the soccer ball at the park. Almost daily grandma, grandpa, and I take Jack for a walk to a nearby park. There is a huge field there where he can play. He is actually pretty good at kicking and dribbling the soccer ball. Like father, like son!

Jack is just getting cuter and cuter everyday. He is so much fun too! He certainly keeps us on our toes and laughing.

Christmas 2010

What a wonderful "White Christmas" we had here in North Carolina. Jackson was a very lucky boy because he got to spend the holiday with both sets of grandparents. Grandma and grandpa Timmons arrived the Thursday night before Christmas. We had a great time eating, drinking, and playing cards, as usual. On Christmas Eve I had to work but Jackson got to spend some quality time with his daddy and his grandma and grandpa Timmons. Luckily, I got off of work early that night so I was able to read him his Christmas story and put him to bed on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day started with mass and then a wonderful breakfast hosted by grandma and grandpa Reid. After that is when the real fun began. It was great watching Jackson open all his presents, although towards the end it became very overwhelming for him and us! He had so many presents to open at grandma and grandpa Reid's and then came home to another load of presents under our tree! After opening a present he wanted to run around and play with it so bad, but we had to make him put it down and move forward or we would have never gotten through the process. Christmas night we had a wonderful pot roast dinner prepared by Toby and his mom.

As we played cards on Christmas night we noticed the snow begin to fall. When we woke up the next day I felt like a little kid on ChristmasQ (or the day after Christmas to be precise) We had approximately 4-6 inches of snow on the ground. This called for a morning of sledding! Good thing Toby and I each got sleds for Christmas. We drove down to a school up the road where a very steep hill falls down to the football field. Toby took Jackson on the sled. It was hard to tell if he liked it or not. He was pretty stoic the entire time we were out there. I think he may have been to cold to smile! We had a great time playing like children, in the snow. It could not have been more perfect that the snow fall occured on Christmas weekend. It was one we will never forget!

This humongous bear was squished in that box. At first Jack was scared of it but now he hugs it every night before bed.

A Florida Thanksgiving...

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at grandma and grandpa Timmons house in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. After a LONG evening/night of driving we finally arrived to their house around 1:30 in the morning on Wednesday. Even though we woke up very sleep deprived on Wednesday we were ready to take on the beach with Jackson. It was the perfect day for a walk on the beach, 75 degrees and sunny! It was his first time ever stepping foot on the beach. At first he was unsure but ended up really liking it. We just walked around down by the water and let him play with the sand a bit. I cant wait til we can go back one day with him in bathing suits and all so we can build sands castles and play in the water.

Sugar had a wonderful time as well. She got to swim her heart out in the bayou behind grandma and grandpa's backyard. One day she swam for almost an hour straight without taking a break!

Jackson had such a great time exploring and hanging out in grandma and grandpa's backyard...

And boy did we have the most delicious Thanksgiving feast. Uncle Todd joined us that day...

On Saturday we went out to lunch before the Gator game...

It took him some time to warm up to his great grandma because he has only met her once when he was 5 months old. Look how happy she was when he finally did...

On Sunday morning we went to church with the family before embarking on our long journey home. Let me tell you, Jackson was a little angel. He sat on daddy's lap the entire hour and barely made a peep. He has never done that for us here at church.  And he looked so cute in his Sunday best...

The week before we left for our trip we were getting a bit worried because Jackson wasnt eating very well. Something about being on vacation gave him the most incredible appetite, or was it just grandma Timmons delicious cooking. He tried all kinds of new foods and hasnt stopped eating since! I think he was just getting bored with all the Stage 3 baby foods. This boy has to be gaining some good weight. He also slept like a champ on vacation. One afernoon he took a 3 hour nap! He really impressed us on this trip.
