Cinnamon

So heres a cute story for you....

At the beginning of this pregnancy with Baby Timmons #2, I was so nauseous that I was researching home remedies. One that I stumbled upon said when nausea attacks just sniff a jar of cinnamon. For awhile, I just kept the cinnamon out on the counter. Jackson would see me sniff and say, "I want some." I would tell him, "mommy doesnt feel good and it helps her feel better." This went on for a couple weeks until one day Jackson banged his head while playing in the house. He cried and said, "I want cinnamon!" It took me awhile to figure out what he was saying. I was extrememly confused but went ahead and handed him the jar of cinnamon. He proceeded to rub his "boo boo" with the outside of the cinnamon jar and then said, "all better" with a big smile on his face. Apparently the cinnamon makes him feel better too! Now everytime he gets a "boo boo" he asks for cinnamon.

May Days

Once again May proved to be a busy month and once again I'm behind on updating this blog. Things should start to slow now that I am on summer break. The last day of school was June 6th. I'm taking this summer off to travel a bit with my boys and spend some quality time with Jackson because before we know it, it wont just be him anymore. His baby brother or sister will be here in early December! I'm now 13 weeks along. The first few months of pregnancy started out pretty rough with lots of nausea and fatigue, two symptoms I never had with Jackson. I just recently started feeling better as I enter into the second trimester. We will find out the gender in the middle of July! Now that I'm feeling better, I'm ready to enjoy a summer full of fun!

As for May, we enjoyed a visit to see great grandma, celebrating Mother's Day and Memorial Day. We kept it all pretty low key since I was feeling yucky pretty much 24-7! Here are some pictures from the past month or so....

Growing up...

A lot has happened since I last updated this blog. Jackson is talking more and more. Its just amazing some of the words that he can say. He also knows the ABC's with the exception of "E,F, G". For some reason he leaves out those few letters. I thought he could count to 10 but just this morning when we were in Target I heard him go all the way to 20!! With his numbers he always excludes the "3".
He will say, "1,2,4,5,....". I have got to get all of this on video. I cant believe how much my little boy is growing up.
At the end of March, one Sunday night on a whim, we decided that it was finally time to get rid of the pacifier, or "sucker" as we have always been calling it, once and for all. Since Chris and Hannah aka "Uncle and Haha" are having a baby in September we decided to tell Jackson that he was a big boy now and should give the sucker to their baby. Well, it ended up working like a charm. That night he cried a few times in the middle of the night but since then the sucker is now a distant memory. He often says, "I gave the sucker to Haha's baby because I dont need it anymore."

Jackson is now potty trained during the day! It all started a couple weeks ago when his teacher, Gemma, told me to start bringing underwear for him to school. I had to go out and buy some that night because we hadnt been working on it seriously yet at home. Well, that first day he had 3 accidents but by the end of that week he was having none and has been doing great ever since. We carried it over to home and he has been doing so well that I even bought him his own big boy "Cars" underwear. I'm not quite sure how we will be able to keep him dry at night but we will get there eventually!

It has been busy this past month with work, Easter festivites (see the previous post), a birthday celebration, and visitors. Enjoy the pictures that follow....

Easter 2012

This year we celebrated Easter with Jackson on two separate occasions. One weekend we went to my mom and dads for Easter dinner and an egg hunt. Jackson had a blast and really got into finding those little plastic eggs so he could see what kind of treasure was inside. It was a beautiful South Florida evening.

Chocolate bunnies, yum!

"Look, I found another egg!"

He found the best part, the Easter basket!

Checking it out..

The following weekend (actual Easter) we went to Ft. Walton for Wesley's confirmation, and to celebrate Easter with Toby's parents. We had a great time with beautiful weather there as well. Jackson got to color eggs and partake in another Easter egg hunt. What a lucky little boy! We didnt get our usual family photo after mass this year because Jackson and I stayed home. The Easter service that was also Wesleys confirmation was a 3 hour service starting at 8 p.m. There is no way Jackson would have made it through that!

The past month in pictures..

I try to update this blog once a month, but at this point I'm a bit behind. This past month has been very busy. When I sit down to think about where to begin I get overwhelmed so I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking...

Jackson working with Pa. It was an unusually cool day in south FL...

Playing on the beach with Pa...

"Look mom, I can fly!"

We were celebrating one year since dad's heart surgery. Dad was showing off his scar so, of course, Jack had to imitate him!

Jack flew with daddy to Ft. Walton for grandpa Timmon's suprise 60th birthday party.

He loved checking out all the airplanes at the airport, and he did so well on the plane.

Look who I found in the dryer!

Trying out Bobby(aka grammy) and Pa's new swing.
