Halloween 2013

We had so much fun for Emily's first Halloween. There were so many festivities to partake in. First we had Pumkinpalooza at the church where Jackson attends school. They had trunk or treating, games, and a bounce house. Jackson wore his Jack in the Box costume from last year. Emily went as a lady bug. On Halloween Jackson was in a parade at school. It was so fun watching the children parade around the parking lot. We were so thankful that daddy could come as well as Bobby and Pa. After the parade, there was a little party in Jacksons classroom. The children got Halloween treats and performed some songs and poems for the parents. So sweet! That night we went trick or treating for the first time in our new neighborhood. When we got home Jackson was able to hand out candy to some of the trick or treaters that came to our house. He seemed to enjoy that just as much as trick or treating.

Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Carving

We had a lot of fun the week of Halloween. One afternoon, Bobby and Pa came with the kids and I to a local pumpkin patch. We took some photos around the patch and took a hayride to the petting area. The kids got to pick out a little pumpkin to take home. It was a beautiful afternoon! The next day we carved our pumpkins on Bobby and Pa's back deck. One was Linus, the other Snoopy. I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking. I LOVE Fall photos so be warned, there are A LOT!!

Fall is upon us...

Since Jacksons birthday celebration we have been getting into the swing of Fall and prepping for Halloween. Fall decorations have gone up around the house and Halloween costumes have been chosen! We try to spend some time each day soaking up the beautiful weather usually with a walk to the park or by playing in the driveway. We've been to several birthday parties over the past month or so. It seems like all of Jacksons friends have Fall birthdays!! We also had a fun day at the fair up in Winston-Salem with the Snyder family. We did have a run of illness which put a damper on things. It all started when Jackson developed a cough and runny nose after his birthday party. Shortly thereafter, Emily then started with a runny nose and congestion. A couple weeks later hers developed into a double ear infection!! She finished a coarse of antibiotics and is feeling much better now. Over the past few days she has been "babbling" a lot more making new sounds! Its so sweet like music to the ear. I can hardly believe it, but I have started thinking about her first birthday and how we will celebrate it. Where has the time gone! :( Jackson is still really enjoying preschool. A couple weekends ago he got to take home the class Teddy bear. We made sure to take Teddy on many fun adventures which we documented in a journal for the class to see. Jacksons teachers often tell us that he is such a funny boy at school and keeps them laughing everyday!
